On April 26, 2015 at Oradell High School in New Jersey, Elite Team Wright competed at the N.J. State Karate Championship. Despite formidable opponents (over 300) from approximately 30 schools of Karate, Martial Arts, Tae Kwon-Do, Okinawa, Japanese and Kick-Boxing. Grand Master Austin Wright’s School and Dojo of Champions won numerous 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Titles and Two (2) Grand Champions in separate age group divisions.
Our Brown Belt Grand Championship was won by 6 year-old Brown Belt Change Fisher, who entered and beat all Ranks including the Black Belt Champion, which was intense, fun, and action-packed! Chance had to fight over 6 different 1st place winners in the novice, white yellow, orange, green, brown, and black belt advanced divisions.
Jamal Bernard, from our UWA Jersey City School was similar to the Karate Kid Story, only he hurt his knee after being knocked down from a larger and taller opponent. Jamal triumphed and won his Grand Championship Title with over 7 fights using his Jumping Hook Kick to Clinch the Division.
