N.J. Team Wright Goes Undefeated at World Hwa Rang Do Karate Championship
When it comes to breath taking and exciting Team Karate and Martial Arts Competition, UWA Martial Arts Team Wright gets Results says Mr. Kenneth Jackson, Parent and Coach. Our Team of UWA Martial Arts Players continues to train hard together. They specialize in strategies and techniques from Old and New School training methods taught under the discipleship of Austin Wright who continues to bring out the Magic of flying Aerial Karate Kicks and Okinawan GoJu-Ryu Power punches along with UWA Martial Art Counter Strikes at the World Hwa Rang Do Karate Championship. Grand Master Kim Nam Yum the Tournament Director invited Team Wright and presented Grandmaster Dr. Wright Sr. with a Certificate for “Fighting Against Drugs” from Mayor Brian Stack of Union, N.J. The Tournament was held in Union High School and always brings Action Packed Martial Art Athletes and Great Kickers from Korea, Taekwondo Do, Tang Soo Doo and Open Styles Nationwide.
Kenneth Jackson Jr. and Johnny O’Brien have gone undefeated for several years in Kumite (Sparring) at this Championship, to include New Commers who made their first Championship Debut Joseph Tomko and Anibal Fonesa. All Competitors placed 1st and went undefeated in their perspective Divisions.
Results are as follows:
Joseph Tomko – White Belt, placed 1st in Sparring
Anibal Fonesa – White Belt, placed 1st in Sparring
Johnny O’Brien – Black Belt, placed 1st in Sparring, and Weapons
Kenneth Jackson Jr. – Black Belt, placed 1st in Sparring
